For individuals interested in the supernatural there is a separate pavilion across the pagoda where a statue of a lady in green is to be found. She is Mya Nan Nwe, patron of women and the pavilion is always crowded with worshippers and supplicants. The next stop would be Sule Pagoda right in the middle of Yangon. Nearby is the MahaBandoola Park, a green oasis in the heart of Yangon CBD. In the centre of the Park is the Independence Monument to mark the country's Independence in 1948. Lunch would follow after a hectic morning. Another visit to another pagoda but this time a Reclining Buddha statue called "ChaukHtatGyii". It is not really that old but the immense size of the statue makes it a worthwhile visit, just to marvel at the workmanship. Note the unique glass eyes that seem to follow you as you circumnavigate the statute. There are also numerous Buddhist monasteries surrounding this pagoda. Shwedagon Pagoda would of course be the time for sunset. Also as the day cools down the pagoda would be crowded with local devotees as well as foreign visitors who come to pray and wonder at this one and the only Buddhist pagoda in the world.
