Normally on the Fullmoon of February. Traditional Myanmar Htamane(sticky rice) preparation competitions.Held all over the country.
Lisu and Akha New Year Festivals. They mostly coincides with the Chinese New Year. Held in and around Kyaing Tong in Eastern Shan State.
Chin National Day is on February 20 held at Mindat(Southern Chin State) and Haka(Northern Chin State)

April(Tagu)

Shwemawtaw Pagoda Festival in Bago.Myanmar New Year(Water Festival). Normally from April 13 to 17.But dates will vary with the Lunar calendar.

May(Kasone)

KasoneNyaungyayThunPwe or Watering the Sacred Bodhi Tree. Main event at Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon as well as other major pagodas at towns across the country.

State Religious Examinations for monks.

July(Warso)

Warso Holy Robes offering ceremonies at monasteries all over the country. The biggest event is at Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon where weaving of Holy Robes are held.There are pagoda festivals on the Sagaing Hills during this 3 months Buddhist Lent period. Pls check with local tour operators.

August(Wargaung)

Taungbyone Nat Festival near Mandalay.It is a traditional festival to pay homage to the 2 spirits-brothers dating back to the Bagan Dynastic era.
September(Tawthalin)
There is no Festival.

October(Thadingyut)

Festival of lights honouring the Return of Lord Buddha Back To The Realm of Humans. Held all over the country. The most famous is the Phaung Taw Oo Pagoda Festival at Inle Lake. The best times to view the festival is (1) when the Buddha Statues leaves the Pavilion at ThaleOovillage;(2)when the procession heads to NyaungShwe;(3) Night stop at NyaungShwe;(4) the return of the statues back to the Pavilion. Please check for dates with the local agents.
